Quant Finance Program

Viswise Academy team up with FIMA grandly launched the half-year quantitative finance "Learning + Internship" project. This program aim to bridges that gap, which between what’s taught in college finance courses and what’s required to succeed in industry. 

The program is designed for:

College freshman & sophomore

Develop a solid foundation in quantitative finance. Get your first high-quality internship with research-based training.

College juniors & seniors

Make a career transition to the finance industry from any quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Math, and Engineering).

High school graduates

Get authentic experiences in finance earlier than anyone else. Make better college / career planning once you have a thorough understanding of the job options.

Everyone else

Learn quantitative skills applicable for hedge fund jobs. FIMA provides a network of top-echelon quantitative hedge fund managers and Ivy League faculty.

Program Details

Format & Tuition

The program will be delivered entirely online through Zoom and the class website. The one group class per week is 2 hours (the time will be announced after enrollment, recording available); The office hours are 60-90 minutes per session, 3 sessions per week.
Tuition:
$6,500 ($10,000) covers Class time, Office hours, Assignment tutoring sessions, Career counseling sessions.
*FIMA offered Viswise Academy's Student's $3500 scholarship so the finial tuition for Viswise Academy's student is $6,500.

*Once the course has started, the program cannot be refunded

-Week 6 Practice incorporating alternative data sources
-Week 7 Instrumental Variables and Two Stage Least Squares

* Student need to watch videos about key concepts before class

About Research Associate interns
Research Associate interns gain hands-on experience in quantitative research as well as the opportunity to learn about quantitative asset management and the investment philosophy. Our Research Associate interns work in collaboration with researchers and portfolio managers in developing trading strategies. Tasks include studying financial markets, learning academic theory, analyzing market data, building new (improving on existing) trading strategies, and/or enhancing portfolio construction.

  • Recorded classes Course period: if you can’t make it, all classes can be watched from the comfort of your home.

Other resources
FIMA will feature guest lectures and recruiters from leading tech entrepreneurs and asset allocators from major institutional investors. Examples: Black Rock, Morgan Stanley, Nansen AI, etc. The exact companies will vary depending on the class and who is available to speak.

Length

1) The one class per week is 2 hours
2) The office hours are 60-90 minutes per session - 3 sessions per week
3) 8 weeks of classes and 12 weeks of internship (can take alongside other schoolwork)

Students will gain hands-on experience in quantitative research and work in collaboration with researchers and portfolio managers in developing trading strategies.
