Course overview
This course is an introduction to programming for the World Wide Web. Students will learn about the relationship between clients and servers, how web pages are constructed, and how the internet works. We will examine several technologies in depth:
- JavaScript for creating interactive web pages
- HyperText Markup Language (HTML) for authoring web pages
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for applying stylistic information to web pages
Yuni Xia
Professor Yuni Xia is an Associate Professor of the Computer and Information Science at some top University. She received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and B.S. from Central China (Hua Zhong) University of Science and Technology. Professor Xia's research focuses on data mining and databases, emphasizing mining, and managing big data and data streams, including biomedical data, sensor data, and moving object data. She also works on managing uncertainty in the decision support process.
Dr. Xia is a seasoned instructor and experienced lecturer. Over the years, she has taught hundreds of students on introductory level coding, including Python, JavaScript. And fundamental knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related subjects. Dr. Xia is patient, caring, and well-loved by students.
